Thanks for your comment, that is an interesting viewpoint. We try to be as impartial as possible, but whilst doing our research it became very clear that the vast majoirty of people are somewhat nervous about the direction this is taking.

It is interesting that you draw parallels between the NSA in the states and the UK governemnts plans. Do you think there may have been some consulation between the two governments on this?

The major ISPs did this on a voluntary basis before it became law. But the fact is that the information remains in their hands. Under the government’s proposed Interception Modernisation Programme a central data warehouse would be established which they had control over. I believe it would be the same sort of set-up that they have in the US with the National Security Agency hoovering up all the e-mails and website visits of the average American. It is only a matter of time before the content of e-mails are scanned and search terms we put into search engines logged. These will then be analysed to look for ‘suspicious patterns’.
