Of course, signing up for a Broadband provider simply for vouchers isn’t recommended, as you will be stuck on a contract with a monthly fee. However, Be offer some of the best broadband in the country and are persistently rated high in customer satisfaction surveys. The company use ADSL2+ technology to provide speeds of up to 24 Mbps on their most expensive package, with uploads speeds as high as 2.5 Mbps.

Thanks to these speeds and incredibly low latency levels, Be is popular amongst people that need superfast internet such as those enjoying HD video streaming and online gamers. However, Be also offers entry level packages.

The Be Value deal offers up to 8 Mbps for only £13.50 a month, including unlimited download and 24 hour technical support. This deal is actually more fully featured than the ‘premium’ packages from some other UK ISPs. If you’re looking for even faster speeds, Be Unlimited and Be Pro are available at £17.50 and £21.50 respectively.

Heavy downloaders have found a home at Be with many customers reporting that while the company have a fair use policy, they don’t engage in the traffic shaping or bandwidth throttling that companies like BT have been reported to use in the past.

Getting a 3 month deal on the most expensive package could save potential users £64.50, so this is a great offer if you want to switch to a faster ISP. Be Broadband offer speeds of up to 24 Mbps over ADSL. The company is owned by O2 who purchased Be in 2006.

You’ll need to sign up to TalkTalk’s ‘Essentials’ package which is quite a good deal for light internet users. For £6.49 a month you’ll get 8 Mbps ADSL speeds and a free wireless router. You also need to sign up to line rental with the company, which costs £11.25 a month and comes with free local calls and unlimited calls on evening and weekends. The total cost per month for line rental and broadband combined is £17.74 a month.

The only drawbacks? There’s a minimum term of 18 months which is quite lengthy for fixed line broadband. There’s also a 40GB download limit which is likely to put off heavy downloaders although it should be more than enough for casual users.

Packages start at £15.65 and at their most basic include a home connection of 8 Mbps and mobile broadband download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps using a USB dongle. There’s a setup fee of £49.99 for the service, although this is subsidised somewhat by a cheaper rate of £7.78 for the first three months.

BT has no mobile network of its own and is buying its network time through Vodafone. Although the deal is cheap and will suit some users, it’s worth noting that the mobile broadband part of the package is subject to a rather strict 1GB per month usage allowance. Lasting for 18 months, the contract also follows a lot of similar mobile contracts in terms of length.

This new deal rates BTs combined services at £308.08 for 18 months, compared to similar offerings from Orange and Virgin from £528 and £435 respectively. This is good news for people who want to combine fixed line broadband with something they can use on the go, providing they are light users. Limits on BT deals and similar services will mean heavy downloaders will still have to look elsewhere for options.

In a poll by BroadbandGenie, BT have recently been rated amongst the best broadband providers in terms of customer service with 24/7 call support and helpful staff rated as some of their top assets. Although this service is too new to judge, it’s likely that users will enjoy the same high level of support.

It’s an honestly cheap deal, although we advise making sure you cover all your bases and make sure you are aware of all the small print involved, especially in terms of those mobile broadband usage limits.
