A websit has been launched for UK citizens to make comments and ask questions about the governments plans to have the whole of the UK covered by broadband of a minimum speed of 2mbs.

So far the reception of the governments plans have been luke warm, with experts expressing opinions that the steering group have not researched the problems that may be concerned with such plans.

It has become apparant that the Government is planning to utilise mobile broadband technology to attain some of the 100% coverage, however this may cause some problems that appear to have been so far overlooked by the steering group, and it’s advisers.

For example, mobile broadband often comes with low usage allowances, meaning many broadband users may suffer from excess bandwidth usage costs, and will more than likely not be able to use services such as the BBC iplayer, and channel 4’s 4OD.
